The Swedish government has presented the 19th support package for Ukraine, which is the largest ever, the Swedish Armed Forces reported.
"Military support for Ukraine is more important than ever. It is an investment in the security of Sweden and Europe. Today, the government presented the 19th package of support for Ukraine, within the framework of which the Swedish Armed Forces are instructed to transfer defense equipment in the amount of DKK 500 million [about $5 million]," a message posted on the social network X on Monday reads.
As noted, the total cost of the support package is about $1.6 billion. "Along with Ukraine's resilience, military support is critical to the country's ability to defend itself against Russia," the report notes.
Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson noted that the package includes, among other things, support for Ukrainian air defense, artillery, satellite communications and maritime capabilities.
