Ukraine backs any diplomatic efforts as only way forward – Zelenskyy
Ukraine was able to unite most of the world, and supports any diplomatic efforts, because this is the only way forward, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
"We managed to unite most of the world, and this unity is our main weapon to protect lives... We support any diplomatic efforts, because this is the only way forward," Zelenskyy said during a speech in the Irish parliament on Tuesday.
He said Ukraine will coordinate with Ireland and with all those who can help.
In addition, the president called on the Irish parliament to remind that pressure on Russia must remain until the Russian aggression ends.
"Russia cannot allow people to believe that it won this war at the expense of so many Ukrainian victims," he said.
The head of state said "Russian murderers do not have the right to travel freely around the world as if they did nothing."
The president also added that European unity is necessary for a good future. "We want to stand together with Ireland in the European Union as equals. I am sure that this will happen. Europe cannot run away from its own values," Zelenskyy said.
