Kyiv residents can restructure debts for utilities and not pay penalties - Kyivteploenergo

Kyiv residents who are in debt for consumed utilities can enter into a restructuring agreement, that is, pay the debt in installments, and avoid the accrual of penalties, reported the municipal enterprise Kyivteploenergo with reference to deputy commercial director of the municipal center Public Service Center Yulia Petryk.

“You can conclude an agreement by contacting one of the Public Service Centers or remotely on the website. Our specialists will help you conclude an appropriate agreement and a repayment schedule for the debt amount, taking into account the financial ability of the consumer,” she said.

As Petryk noted, over the past six months, 563 restructuring agreements have been concluded at the center, of which 344 are for hot water supply and heat services. This is twice as much as in the same period last year.

“That is, more and more citizens are using this mechanism. Restructuring allows not only to protect the consumer from the accrual of penalties, but also not to lose the assigned subsidy, since consumers who have a debt for consumed services for more than three months and exceeding UAH 680 are not accrued a subsidy,” the expert explained.

Agreements are concluded for services for the supply of hot water and thermal energy, centralized water supply and drainage, as well as the maintenance of houses, structures and local areas/management of apartment buildings, and removal of household waste.

You can learn more about the terms of the agreement and payment methods, as well as get answers to other questions on the Public Service Center website in the Debtors section.
