USAID ERA supported project to compensate 30% of the cost of grain handling equipment
(corrected)
With support from USAID’s Economic Resilience Activity (ERA), a grant program to compensate at least 20 Ukrainian agricultural logistics companies for 30% of the cost of grain handling equipment from Zavod Kobzarenko LLC has been launched, according to USAID ERA's Facebook page.
The USAID support program for Ukrainian agricultural companies provides that the company buys equipment from the manufacturer for 70% of its cost, 30% is compensated by the USAID project. It is expected that such business support will increase the grain export and transshipment capacity by 2.5 million tonnes per hour, the post says.
Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises whose annual income does not exceed an amount equivalent to EUR 40 million can purchase equipment at a 30% discount.
Ukrainian agro-holding companies and firms that have already received or will soon receive assistance from USAID ERA are not eligible.
As part of the support program, companies can purchase equipment that will help increase the efficiency of grain transshipment processes at all key nodes of the export route, namely: Mobile wagon unpacker RWМ-180 (tractor and electric power variations), ground transshipment bunkers BNP-12 “Kovcheg” (tractor and electric power variations) and ground transshipment bunkers BNP-3 “Kovcheg” (tractor power variation) and belt loader СN-25 (electric power variation).
