Energoatom operates with reserve capacity – company's head
Energoatom, having completed scheduled repair work at all nuclear power plants controlled by Ukraine, operates all nine units, providing reserve capacity, head of the company Petro Kotin said.
"All nine units are in operation, they produce the capacity required by the energy system," Kotin said at the Energy in Industry 2024 exhibition-conference in Kyiv on Tuesday
At the same time, he noted that nuclear generation has a reserve capacity.
"We have a significant reserve capacity that we can add if necessary," the head of the company said.
As reported, Energoatom controls the Rivne, Khmelnytsky and Pivdennoukrainsk NPPs. In a presentation presented at the conference, Energoatom estimates the total installed capacity of nine power units at 8.13 GW.
