The Ukraine Energy Support Fund, now in its third year, has attracted EUR 1.2 billion in grant funding, Energy Minister Herman Haluschenko announced on Facebook on April 22.

"More than 70 Ukrainian energy companies from across the country have received assistance; around 150,000 pieces of equipment have already been delivered to end users," he wrote.

According to Haluschenko, priority is being given to equipment critical for restoring power supply – transformers, generators, cables, and specialized vehicles.

The Fund's donors include both public and private sector entities, as well as international and regional organizations from nearly every EU country, the UK, and the United States.

The minister highlighted the Fund's particular effectiveness since October 2022, when Russia launched large-scale attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

"That was the moment the Fund proved its value – designed for rapid response, it facilitated the timely procurement of equipment and enabled swift repairs exactly when the energy system needed every kilowatt of power," Haluschenko stated.

He added that nearly all Ukrainian energy companies have sought assistance through the Fund, received the necessary equipment, and continue to collaborate actively.

"My gratitude goes to all the countries contributing to the Fund and continuing to support Ukraine's energy sector. I thank our partners at the Energy Community for their steadfast commitment, for establishing this Fund, and for the effective coordination of all its operations," Haluschenko concluded.

The Ukraine Energy Support Fund was established in April 2022 at the initiative of Energy Minister Haluschenko and EU Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson.
