SBU reports suspicion to former heads of colony in Olenivka, involved in deaths of Ukrainian POWs

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has reported suspicion to the former heads of the colony in Olenivka, who deliberately delayed the evacuation of the wounded after the explosions in the colony.

"We are talking about collaborator Sergei Yevsyukov, the former head of the so-called 'Volnovakha DPR colony' in the village of Olenivka, and his former first deputy, collaborator Dmitry Neelov," the SBU said in a statement on its Telegram channel on Monday.

According to the investigation, both defendants were in office when the occupiers set off explosions on the territory of the colony on the night of July 29.

The report recalls that at least 50 Ukrainian servicemen in the colony were killed as a result of the fire strike. Nine of them died due to failure to provide them with emergency medical care. Almost 150 were injured.

"Both defendants were aware of the consequences of the explosions and the number of victims, but deliberately delayed the evacuation of the wounded to medical facilities," the report emphasizes.

Based on the evidence collected, Security Service investigators informed Yevsyukov and Neelov of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 438 (cruel treatment of prisoners of war, combined with premeditated murder, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

In November 2022, both defendants were replaced in their positions by the occupiers; they are hiding from justice in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region.

The investigation was conducted under the procedural guidance of Prosecutor General's Office.
