The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has successfully destroyed Russia's Solntsepek heavy flamethrower system in the Zaporizhia axis.

"Our fighters have successfully destroyed the heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A Solntsepek, which is the 'pride' of the Russian military-industrial complex and a rare target on the front, in the Zaporizhia axis," the special service said on the Telegram channel on Saturday.

The SBU reported that during reconnaissance "they recorded the position of the system, which was fully equipped with ammunition and ready to strike. After a bright fireworks display, the crew disappeared along with the entire system."

TOS is a Soviet and Russian weapon system designed to disable lightly armored and automotive vehicles, set fire to and destroy buildings and structures with a volumetric explosion, as well as manpower even in shelters. Destruction occurs due to the impact of high temperature, fragments, shock waves and excess pressure.
