President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a law on reinstatement to the former military rank during martial law.

The corresponding mark appeared in the card of law No. 3859-ІХ "On Amendments to the Disciplinary Regulations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, approved by the law of Ukraine 'On the Disciplinary Regulations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine' on reinstatement to the former military rank during martial law" on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

The parliament backed the law on July 16.

The main goal of the law is to reinstate servicemen who were deprived of military ranks in the past by disciplinary procedure for exemplary performance of official duties and combat tasks to use their professional, organizational abilities, military and special training, and combat experience during martial law.
