Zelenskyy: Russians set fire to Zaporizhia NPP territory
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russians set fire to Zaporizhia NPP territory.
"Enerhodar. We are recording from Nikopol that Russian occupiers have set fire to Zaporizhia NPP territory," he said on his Telegram channel.
Zelenskyy noted that radiation levels are currently normal.
"But as long as Russian terrorists maintain control over the nuclear power plant, the situation is not and cannot be normal. Since the first day of the Zaporizhia NPP seizure, Russia has been using it purely to blackmail Ukraine, all of Europe and the world," the president emphasized.
Zelenskyy added that Ukraine is expecting a reaction from the world, in particular the IAEA (regarding the arson of Zaporizhia NPP by Russians).
"Russia must be held accountable for this. Only Ukrainian control over the Zaporizhia NPP can guarantee a return to normalcy and complete security," the head of the Ukrainian state concluded.
Earlier, the head of the Nikopol District Military Administration, Yevhen Yevtushenko, reported on his Telegram channel about the arson of the Zaporizhia NPP by Russians.
"Perhaps this is a provocation or an attempt to create panic in the settlements on the right bank of the former reservoir. For now, the Zaporizhia NPP is operating in a normal mode, as much as possible under occupation," Yevtushenko said on the Telegram channel.
