MFA denies Russia's allegations about Ukraine's plans to use 'dirty bombs', attack NPPs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (MFA) denies the recent allegations of Russian propaganda about Ukraine's plans to use "dirty bombs" or attack nuclear power plants (NPPs), Spokesperson for the MFA Heorhiy Tykhyi has said on August 16.
"We are seeing another surge in insane Russian propaganda about alleged Ukrainian plans to use 'dirty bombs' or attack nuclear plants. We officially refute these false claims. Ukraine has no intention or ability to take any such actions. Russia must stop spreading dangerous lies," he said on X Social Network.
Tykhyi also noted that Ukraine has always been and continues to be a committed Non-Proliferation Treaty member.
"We do not have any 'dirty bombs' and have no plans to acquire any. When Russia first spread this nonsense in 2022, we invited an IAEA [the International Atomic Energy Agency] mission that completely refuted these lies. Nothing has changed since then," he said.
