Shmyhal outlines main economic vectors for diplomats
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal named the main five areas of economic diplomacy during a meeting of the heads of foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine “Wartime Diplomacy: Resilience, Weapons, Victory,” the government portal reported on Monday evening.
"The first is the accumulation of macro-financial assistance from partners. The second vector is receiving assistance for recovery. The third is strengthening sanctions against the aggressor. The fourth is stimulating the attraction of foreign investment. The fifth vector is the promotion of Ukrainian goods on world markets," the prime minister said.
According to the prime minister, the state is currently focusing on providing financial resources, the need for external financing next year will be at least $38 billion. Shmyhal focused special attention on the confiscation of frozen Russian assets, "so that Ukraine could finance all critical needs and so that the debt burden on Ukraine does not increase."
The second task of economic diplomacy, as the head of government noted, is to attract equipment to Ukraine for various needs, in particular, "mine clearance, engineering, medical."
The third task of economic diplomacy, which Shmyhal voiced, is to attract equipment for the energy sector.
The prime minister called on representatives of the diplomatic corps to focus on the outlined tasks. He thanked each Ukrainian diplomat for all their efforts for Ukraine's victory.
