The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) documented the subversive activities of the priest of the Vinnytsia diocese of the UOC (MP), the rector of the Kalinovsky deanery, who publicly justified the armed aggression of Russia and expected the invaders to come to Vinnytsia region.

"According to the materials of the case, in communication with believers, the archpriest praised Putin and called for the support of the ruscists. He also disseminated pro-Kremlin narratives among the parishioners of the religious community through telegrams. The examination initiated by the Security Service confirmed the facts of criminal actions aimed at undermining the socio-political situation in the region," the SBU press service reports on the Telegram channel.

During searches of the defendant's house, a mobile phone and computer equipment were seized, which he used to spread hostile propaganda.

Based on the evidence collected, the SBU investigators informed the cleric of suspicion under Parts 1-3 of Article 436-2 (justification, recognition of legality, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The defendant is under round-the-clock house arrest. An investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The lawbreaker faces up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.
