Half of Russian attacks recorded on Kurakhove, Pokrovsk axes since midnight – General Staff
The Russian occupation forces continue to make attempts to advance deeper into the territory of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has said on Tuesday.
"The enemy has attacked the defense positions 118 times. Its most intensive operations were recorded on the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk axes, where almost half of all assaults were recorded," it said on Facebook.
The border districts of Sumy and Chernihiv regions continue to suffer from Russian artillery shelling. In particular, Karpovychi, Pokrovka, Porozok, Dmytrivka, Sopych, Bobylivka, Velyka Pysarivka, and Boyaro-Lezhachi came under enemy fire. Air strikes were inflicted on Esman, Usok, and Yunakivka.
Russian fighter jets also dropped 24 guided aerial bombs on the territory of its Kursk region. The region was also shelled with MLRS and cannon artillery.
On the Kharkiv axis, Russian occupiers twice stormed the Ukrainian positions in the vicinity of Vovchansk. The battle continued as of 4 p.m.
The enemy forces attacked the Ukrainian positions on the Kupyansk axis four times. Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy assaults in the areas of Hlushkivka, Synkivka, and Berestova.
On the Lyman axis, the enemy continued to attack the areas of Tverdokhlibove, Druzheliubivka, Novosadove, Hrekivka, Nevske, Torske, and Terny. Since midnight, Ukrainian defenders have repelled eight of 16 enemy assaults there. The hostilities continue. Nine aerial bombs were dropped in the vicinity of Petropavlivka and Borova.
On the Siversky axis, the adversary three times attacked the areas of Verkhniokamyanske, Vyimka, Spirne. Ukrainian defenders repelled all attacks.
On the Kramatorsk axis, the occupiers conducted four assaults in the vicinity of Andriyivka and Chasiv Yar. There are three ongoing combat clashes near Chasiv Yar. The enemy also actively used aircraft, dropping four guided bombs on the areas of Stupochky and Bila Hora. Hryhorivka was attacked by unguided missiles two times.
On the Toretsk axis, seven enemy assaults were recorded. The enemy attacked the areas of Nelipivka and Toretsk. Ukrainian defenders stopped all of the attacks. Enemy aircraft bombarded the areas of Dachne, Kostiantynivka, Dyliyivka, Toretsk.
On the Pokrovsk axis, the occupiers have made 31 attempts to attack the Ukrainian defenders in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Kalynove, Novohrodivka, Hrodivka, Myroliubivka, Mykhailivka, and Zelene Pole. The defense forces, holding back the enemy pressure, have already repelled 21 enemy attacks, ten battles are still ongoing. The occupiers are making major efforts near Novohrodivka and Mykhailivka, where eleven and nine combat clashes were recorded respectively.
Most of the fighting was recorded on the Kurakhove axis, where the invaders attacked Ukrainian positions 37 times, most actively trying to advance in the areas of Ukrainsk, Kostiantynivka, and Heorhiyivka. Five battles are still ongoing.
On the Vremiv axis, the invaders attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops near Vuhledar, Vodiane, and Kostiantynivka eight times. The attacks were repulsed.
On the Orikhiv axis, 20 unguided missiles struck the area of Pyatykhatky village. The occupiers also conducted five attacks near Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, and Novoandriyivka.
One enemy attack was repulsed on the Prydniprovsky axis. The invaders fired 40 unguided air missiles at Mykolaivka.
No enemy activities were recorded in other directions.
