MFA expresses concern to Iran's Charge d'Affaires over missile delivery to Russia
The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine on Monday summoned Charge d'Affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ukraine Shahriar Amouzegar to expressed its deep concern over reports about Iran's possible supply of ballistic missiles to Russia.
According to a statement published by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the Iranian diplomat was handed the relevant commentary of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry dated September 7 and "warned in a tough form that the confirmation of the fact of Iran's supply of ballistic weapons to the aggressor state will have devastating and irreparable consequences for Ukrainian-Iranian bilateral relations."
On September 7, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said it was deeply concerned about "reports of a possible upcoming transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia." The statement emphasized that "deepening military cooperation between Tehran and Moscow poses a threat to Ukraine, Europe and the Middle East."
The ministry called on the international community to increase pressure on Iran and Russia.
Earlier, the media published information about Iran allegedly supplying Russia with hundreds of short-range ballistic missiles for use in the war against Ukraine.
