Klitschko talks with Scholz about aid with long-range weapons, tightening sanctions against Russia

Mayor of Kyiv, head of the Association of Ukrainian Cities Vitali Klitschko met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and discussed with him the issues of assistance with long-range weapons to Ukraine and increasing the effectiveness of sanctions against Russia.

"Wladimir and I visited the Bild 100 event in Berlin. In a conversation with Olaf Scholz, we emphasized that Germany's continued support is extremely important for Ukraine. Assistance, in particular with long-range weapons, is critically needed today! And any concessions to Putin will not stop him in his further aggressive aspirations. Not only in Ukraine," Klitschko wrote on his Telegram channel.

Bild 100 is a prestigious annual event, where the German publication and publishing house Axel Springer gathers the most influential people – politicians, representatives of business, the public sector, and culture.

This year, the informal communication was attended by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Leader of the CDU/CSU Group in the Bundestag Friedrich Merz, Minister-President of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia Hendrik Wüst, Minister-President of Bavaria Markus Söder, Minister of Finance of Germany Christian Lindner, mayors of Berlin Kai Wegner and Hamburg - Peter Tschentscher.
