Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha congratulated Secretary General of the Council of Europe Alain Berset on taking office and invited him to visit Ukraine, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported.

"Pleased to speak with Alain Berset and become the first Foreign Minister to congratulate him on assuming his post of Secretary General of the Council of Europe. We discussed furthering the excellent cooperation between Ukraine and the Council of Europe. We intend to achieve many more joint results," the MFA’s press service quoted Sybiha as saying on Wednesday.

According to Sybiha, during the conversation, the parties discussed joint work to advance the Peace Formula, as well as ensuring full and comprehensive responsibility for Russian crimes, including the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

“I also invited Secretary General Alain Berset to visit Ukraine," the foreign minister noted.
