Germany sends Leopard 1 A5 tanks, 155mm ammo in new military assistance package to Ukraine
Germany has sent a new package of military assistance to Ukraine which includes Leopard 1 A5 tanks, Bandvagn 206 tracked all-terrain vehicles Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, and 155mm ammunition.
According to a statement on the website of the German government, the country sent 22 Leopard 1 A5 main battle tanks with spare parts (joint project with Denmark), five tracked all-terrain vehicles Bandvagn 206 (BV206), one All Terrain Tracked Carrier Warthog, three self-propelled anti-aircraft guns Gepard with spare parts, two air surveillance radars TRML-4D, and 61,000 rounds 155mm ammunition.
The new package of assistance also includes 30 reconnaissance drones Vector with spare parts, 20 reconnaissance drones RQ-35 HEIDRUN, twelve reconnaissance drones SONGBIRD, six Hornet XR, three bridge-laying tanks BEAVER with spare parts, one armored engineer vehicle DACHS with spare parts, six mine clearing tanks WISENT 1 with spare parts, and material for explosive ordnance disposal.
Germany also sent 16 ground surveillance radars, two AMPS self-protection systems for helicopters, two border protection vehicles, 112 vehicles (trucks, minibuses, all-terrain vehicles), eight Zetros, ten machine guns MG3 with 500 spare barrels and breechblocks, and 1 million rounds of ammunition for fire arms.
