Ukraine's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa Maksym Subh received a delegation of representatives of the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana on Thursday, September 19, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reports.

"This is the first official visit of the Ghanaian delegation to Ukraine since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992," the ministry noted.

Subkh noted that the launch of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in Accra is evidence of Ukraine's determination to intensify cooperation with Ghana as an important partner on the African continent.

The Ghanaian side was informed about the negative global consequences of the full-scale Russian armed aggression against Ukraine, in particular, in the context of ensuring food security in Africa. The Ukrainian side invited the Ghanaian leadership to take part in the Third International Summit of the humanitarian program Grain from Ukraine.

"For their part, the Ghanaian deputies expressed support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state and expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people in opposing Russian armed aggression," the Foreign Ministry said.

The sides also discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular in the trade and economic sphere.
