USA carefully studying President Zelenskyy's Plan for Victory – Blinken
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the U.S. administration is studying the "Plan for Victory" that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented to U.S. President Joe Biden during their meeting at the White House in Washington, Voice of America said.
At a press conference in New York, where the UN General Assembly was held and where some of the meetings of the Ukrainian president with the U.S. leadership took place, Blinken said that America had significantly increased its support for Ukraine, announcing an aid package worth more than $8 billion.
Blinken said the United States and the UN have taken important steps to support the people of Ukraine as they continue to defend themselves against ongoing Russian aggression and continue to defend their sovereignty and independence, their right to decide their own future. He added that this money should last until the end of the current administration's term.
Asked whether Kyiv would receive permission in the future to use Western weapons for long-range strikes against Russian military targets, Blinken said the administration and Ukraine's partners are now reviewing the details of the plan and, if necessary, considering "additional actions" to help the Ukrainians achieve victory.
Blinken said they are looking at that very carefully, including what they or Ukraine's other partners would need to do, if necessary, additional actions to help them achieve that success.
