Zelenskyy after meeting with Rutte: Only through Ukraine's NATO integration we can remove Russian temptation to disrupt order of life in Europe
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, who is on a visit to Kyiv, the issue of bringing Ukraine's membership in NATO closer.
"All of us in Europe need this anyway – Ukraine in the Alliance. And not only for the sake of greater common strength, not only because it is simply fair and deserved for Ukrainians, but also because only through Ukraine's full integration, our clear position in the Euro-Atlantic, can we reliably remove the old and criminal Russian temptation to disrupt the order of life in Europe," Zelenskyy said in an evening video address on Thursday following the meeting with Rutte.
He noted the extreme value of "geopolitical certainty for Ukraine and all of Europe." "This is the reliable foundation of peace, when there is not a single insufficiently protected place in the security architecture of Europe," Zelenskyy said.
