Carrying out any rotations in security forces is untimely – MP

Secretary of the parliamentary committee on European integration of Ukraine Valentyn Nalyvaichenko (Batkivschyna faction) believes it is untimely to carry out any rotations in the security forces, including the dismissal of Head of the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense Kyrylo Budanov.

"I think that neither we, nor our American partners will understand if such a decision on dismissal is made. In my opinion, this is not the right time," Nalyvaichenko told Interfax-Ukraine.

The committee's secretary said he knows from his American colleagues about the content of the Plan for Victory, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy introduced to U.S. President Joe Biden, Congress and presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

"I know that there is a major part there that concerns the Ukrainian special services and military intelligence and its head Budanov. Moreover, in a positive sense," Nalyvaichenko said.

The MP also said he does not like to discuss rumors that the media retransmit about the possible resignations of Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and the head of the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense.

"Moreover, the resignation of the minister is solely the authority of the president – the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. If he makes a decision, he will sign a decree and replace him," Nalyvaichenko said.

The MP said he is a supporter of the creation of a government of national unity during the war, which is insisted on by Batkivschyna and other opposition factions of the Verkhovna Rada.

"We will insist that during the war there should be no government and opposition, but a government of national unity and specialists in it who have passed lie detector tests to check for possible corruption ties and ties with the aggressor, who do not steal from the budget, but work for the Armed Forces. In fact, during the war it is possible and necessary to act firmly, harshly and quickly," Nalyvaichenko said.

According to him, the example of Israel, where such a government has been created and operates, proves the effectiveness of such approaches.
