Russia hits Mykolaiv with S-300/400 missiles, launches X-59s on Sumy, Chernihiv regions – Air Force
The Air Defense Forces shot down 12 out of 17 enemy UAVs, while the Russians attacked Ukrainian cities with missiles of various modifications, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Tuesday morning.
"On the night of October 15, 2024, the enemy attacked Mykolaiv region with seven S-300/400 anti-aircraft guided missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea, launched two X-59 guided aviation missiles against Chernihiv region and Sumy region from the airspace of Kursk region, as well as 17 UAVs [launch areas: Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Russia]," the report states.
As a result of anti-aircraft combat, 12 enemy UAVs were shot down in Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Odesa, Poltava, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad and Cherkasy regions.
According to the data of the Air Force, four Russian drones were lost locally, presumably as a result of operation of electronic warfare systems, and another UAV was in the air.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, EW units and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Defense Forces were involved in repelling the attack.
