Zelenskyy: Ukraine, South Korea to exchange delegations for coordinating actions to strengthen contacts
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol, during which the interlocutors discussed the involvement of the North Korean military in the Russian invasion.
"We agreed to strengthen the exchange of intelligence and expertise, intensify contacts at all levels, including the highest, in order to develop an action strategy and a list of countermeasures in response to escalation, and to involve joint partners in cooperation. As part of this agreement, Ukraine and the Republic of Korea will soon exchange delegations to coordinate actions," Zelenskyy wrote on his Telegram channel following the conversation.
The President also said that he had provided his interlocutor with fresh data on the transfer of 3,000 North Korean troops to Russian training grounds in the immediate vicinity of the combat zone and the expected increase in their number to approximately 12,000.
In addition, Zelenskyy thanked South Korea for its consistent support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the financial and humanitarian aid already provided and announced.
The President invited South Korea to join the G7 Vilnius Declaration on bilateral security deals in support of Ukraine.
