Norway's FM: We’re working closely with our allies to see how we can stand up for Zelenskyy's Victory Plan
Norway is working closely with its closest allies to see how it can “defend” Ukrainian President Zelenskyy’s Victory Plan, which Oslo has backed, Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said. ближайшими союзниками
“We are now working closely with our closest allies to understand how we can defend the Victory Plan that President Zelenskyy has presented. And I come from a country that supports these principles,” he said at the Human Dimension of Peace Formula Ministerial Conference.
The minister specifically emphasized that although Norway had previously had fairly good relations with Russia, “we now find ourselves neighbors of a country that is on the wrong side of history.” The minister pointed out that Norway supports Ukraine not only out of solidarity with the people of Ukraine, because “we want to protect key principles,” in particular the UN Charter.
“And these key principles, embodied in the UN Charter, in International Humanitarian Law, the Geneva Conventions, the principles of the Conventions on Human Rights, they are really being tested in Ukraine now,” Eide said.
He also stated that “we cannot have any other result than the victory of Ukraine.”
As reported, on February 2, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly, who arrived in Kyiv on a visit, announced the creation of a new international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children who were illegally transferred to the Russian Federation. Joly explained that within the framework of the said international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children, Canada will use its diplomatic network around the world to “communicate as if these children were Canadian children.”
On October 30-31, a ministerial conference on the human dimension of the Peace Formula is being held in Montreal (Canada).
The conference is aimed at implementing the fourth point of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, "Release of all prisoners and deportees." As reported by the President's Office, the goal of the event is to create a roadmap with practical solutions to ensure all stages of the return of prisoners and deportees: prisoners of war, civilian hostages, and deported children.
