The European Solidarity party has announced that it will not support the 2025 state budget in its current form, as submitted by the government for the second reading. Instead, the party advocates reallocating nearly UAH 257 billion toward Ukraine's Armed Forces rather than spending it on what it views as ineffective expenditures, according to a statement on the party's website.

"Out of these funds, UAH 236 billion should be directed towards development, procurement, and repairs of military equipment, as well as technology investments. The remaining 21 billion UAH should stay with military units to enable swift, corruption-free purchases of FPVs, electronic warfare equipment, ammunition, logistics, spare parts, tires, and other essentials. Unfortunately, the government ignored all these proposals," said European Solidarity leader and MP Petro Poroshenko.

Poroshenko also noted that the 2025 budget proposal maintains or increases spending on road construction, and salaries for prosecutors, judges, and law enforcement officials. "If you compare the first and second readings, the increase for the Ministry of Defense is only UAH 700 million, which is negligible. This reinforces the notion that spending on the Armed Forces and national defense is not a true priority," he said.

Poroshenko warned that passing the budget in its current form would "undermine our chances of victory," adding, "We will do everything within our power to prevent this."
