G7 Ambassadors meet with mayors of several Ukrainian cities
Ambassadors of the G7 countries in Ukraine met with the mayors of Dnipro, Mariupol, Ternopil, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Velyka Pysarivka, Chernihiv, Varash and Orzhytsia, Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov said.
"More than two hours of discussions. About the challenges of war and the situation in local government in general. About the decentralization reform and the financial solvency of municipalities. Everyone had their say – from representatives of regional centers to the smallest communities. From the west and east of the country," Filatov said on Facebook.
He noted that he also held personal conversations with U.S. Ambassador Bridget Brink and Ambassador of Italy, which currently chairs the G7, Carlo Formosa.
"There will be no details. I can only say that I am grateful to our esteemed partners not only for their unwavering military and political support for Ukraine, but also for their willingness to hear the voice of local self-government throughout our country," Filatov said.
