The state budget of Ukraine for 2025 provides for the allocation of 26.3% of the gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine or UAH 2.23 trillion to the security and defense of the Ukrainian state, which is UAH 47.6 billion more than in 2024, notes Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
"Of these, UAH 1.16 trillion is allocated for the pay of our soldiers - this is UAH 10 billion more than in 2024. Some UAH 739 billion will be allocated for the purchase and renewal of weapons - this will allow us to modernize the army, providing it with modern weapons systems for effective combat operations. Some UAH 55.1 billion will go to modernizing the production capacities of the defense industry and developing the latest technologies," Umerov wrote on Facebook on Friday.
Also, according to him, funding for the purchase of unmanned systems, in particular DeepStrike, has been significantly increased.
"This budget is our response to the challenges of war. It is aimed at strengthening the country's defense capability, supporting our defenders and developing the defense industry. Every hryvnia is an investment in victory and the peaceful future of Ukraine," Umerov emphasized.
