General Staff reports 119 combat clashes at front lines since midnight, incl 12 in Kursk region
The situation at the fronts of the Russian-Ukrainian war on Wednesday remains complex and tense, with a total of 119 combat clashes since the beginning of the day and as of 4 p.m., the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) has said on Facebook.
Most of the combat clashed occurred in Donetsk region.
"Today, on the Lyman axis, the occupation army made nine attacks on Ukrainian positions. [...] On the Toretsk axis, the Russian forces tried to push our units out of their positions in the vicinity of Toretsk, where the defense forces are repelling four attacks. Since the beginning of the day, on the Pokrovsk axis, the enemy has already made 29 attempts to displace our defenders from their positions. [...] Fighting continues near Sontsivka, Berestky, Zoria, Novodmytrivka, Kurakhove, Dalne, Dachne, Romanivka, Yelyzavetivka and Uspenivka on the Kurakhove axis. On the Vremiv axis, four enemy assaults are ongoing. The enemy made ten attempts to move forward during the day," it said.
The enemy launched an air strike on Myrnohrad, Donetsk region.
On the Kharkiv axis, the Russian occupiers conducted five assaults in the area of Vovchansk and Hlyboke, four of which were repelled and one more continues. On the Kupyansk axis, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian units twelve times.
On the Prydniprovsk axis, the enemy tried to dislodge Ukrainian soldiers from their positions three times to no avail.
In Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled twelve enemy attacks, and eight combat clashes are ongoing.
"Today, the areas of Oleksandrivka, Novovasylivka, Maiske and Kamin in Sumy and Chernihiv regions came under enemy artillery shelling from the territory of Russia. [...] On the Siversk, Kramatorsk, Huliaipole, Orikhiv and Prydniprovsk axes, the occupiers continue to shell the positions of our troops and civilian infrastructure," the General Staff said.
