The government calls on farmers in Kharkiv region to take advantage of the humanitarian demining market, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.
"One of the programs that require additional attention is demining. Kharkiv region is one of the most mine-contaminated areas. Now about 320 sappers from various government organizations are working on demining here with the use of 24 mechanical demining machines," he said at an off-site government meeting in Kharkiv region on Thursday.
In addition, he said, there are about 400 deminers from non-governmental and international organizations in the region.
"We also call on farmers in Kharkiv region to take advantage of the humanitarian demining market, thanks to which they can receive 100 percent compensation for demining their plots," Shmyhal said.
