More than 8,000 military personnel, who voluntarily left military unit, return to service

More than eight thousand servicemen, who voluntarily left the military unit, have already returned to service, said Sevak Saiyan, head of the department of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense of the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO).

"To date, more than 8,000 servicemen have voluntarily applied and returned to military service. Of these, if we distinguish: more than 5,000 servicemen were returned in accordance with the law of exemption from criminal liability and more than 3,000 under the second law," he was quoted as saying in a message on the department's Telegram channel on Thursday.

On September 7, Law No. 3902-IX came into force, regulating the procedure for releasing military personnel from criminal liability for committing crimes and desertion.

On November 28, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed bill No. 12095 on voluntary return to service for those who voluntarily left military units or deserted for the first time.
