Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal says that Ukraine will start receiving the first $50 billion from frozen Russian assets as early as 2025.

"While the legal procedure for creating a compensation mechanism is underway, while we are working on confiscating frozen Russian assets, we will start receiving the first $50 billion next year," Shmyhal said during the hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday, which was broadcast live on YouTube by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko (the European Solidarity faction).

As reported, on December 4, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced the imminent transfer of $50 billion from the EU and the USA to Ukraine from frozen Russian assets.
