Death toll in Zaporizhia grows to eight — Emergency Service

Rescuers unblocked the body of another dead person as a result of a missile strike by the Russian army on Zaporizhia, the number of victims increased to eight, 22 people were injured, people may remain under the rubble, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported on Wednesday morning.

"In Zaporizhia, the body of another deceased person was unblocked from under the rubble. Now, as a result of a Russian missile strike on a private medical facility in the city, eight people have been killed. Twenty-two people were injured, including a child. Emergency rescue operations are continuing at the scene. There are probably still people under the rubble," the agency said on the Telegram channel.

According to head of the Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov, as a result of the missile strike, according to preliminary data, 20 residential buildings and three non-residential buildings were damaged. More than 160 people and 50 pieces of equipment are involved in eliminating the consequences of an enemy strike.

Wednesday, December 11, has been declared a day of mourning in the city.

Earlier, Fedorov reported six dead and 22 injured as a result of a Russian missile strike on the city center. A five–year-old girl is among the injured.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, as a result of the hit, the building of a private clinic and a nearby cafe were destroyed. The blast wave and debris damaged multi-storey residential buildings, cars of local residents.
