Ukraine, UK preparing agreement on transition to stronger partnership

A Ukrainian delegation led by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva held the fourth round of negotiations with the United Kingdom on concluding a bilateral agreement on the transition to a stronger and deeper partnership.

The parties carefully analyzed amendments to the draft document and noted significant progress in agreeing on its key sections, the presidential press service said on Thursday.

"We are grateful to the United Kingdom for its leadership in supporting Ukraine. Concluding a new agreement on a stronger and deeper partnership between our countries will be an important practical demonstration that the UK has been, is, and will continue to be a reliable friend and partner of Ukraine in all areas – from security to economics, from legal cooperation to culture and the arts," Zhovkva said.

The Ukrainian and UK delegations agreed on the next steps for further work on the text of the agreement.
