GUR destroys aerial target by Magura V5 marine drone for first time in history
Special forces of the Main Intelligence Agency (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Tuesday, December 31, for the first time in military history destroyed an aerial target, a Russian Mi–8 helicopter, using a Magura V5 naval drone equipped with missile weapons, the press service of the GUR reported.
"On December 31, 2024, soldiers of the special forces of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Group 13, for the first time in history hit an aerial target using a Magura V5 naval drone equipped with missile weapons," the GUR said in a Telegram message on Tuesday.
It is reported that during the battle in the Black Sea near Cape Tarkhankut in the temporarily occupied Crimea, a Russian Mi-8 helicopter was destroyed as a result of the use of R-73 SeeDragon missiles. Another similar enemy helicopter was hit by fire and was able to reach its home airfield.
