Polish President: Hope Ukraine to be provided with ammunition throughout 2025
NATO allies "learned lessons" from last year's situation, when Ukrainian soldiers experienced a shortage of ammunition, Polish President Andrzej Duda has said.
"We talked about possible tranches of aid to Ukraine, primarily military aid, of course. We also talked about financial aid. I want to assure you that we are doing everything to ensure that the situation like at the beginning of last year, when there was a shortage of defense equipment, primarily ammunition, in the Ukrainian army, does not happen again. Conclusions have been drawn from last year's situation among NATO allies, and I hope that in this regard, Ukraine will be completely secure throughout 2025," Duda said at a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Warsaw.
Separately, the Polish leader said Poland is participating in the so-called "Czech initiative" on ammunition. According to Duda, decisions regarding ammunition support in the volume required by Ukraine are ongoing and being implemented.
