During a working meeting with a delegation of the Lithuanian Seimas led by Speaker Saulius Skvernelis, support for Ukraine, defense cooperation and sanctions against Russia were discussed, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has said Monday.

"I thanked for the weighty contribution to strengthening Ukrainian defense. In particular, for the decision to allocate annually 0.25% of GDP to support our state. Also, I noted the importance of Lithuania's financing the production of Ukrainian drones in Ukraine. Attention was paid to increasing investment in our defense industry and the creation of joint defense enterprises. This will strengthen the Ukrainian economy and defense production," he said on the Telegram channel.

The Prime Minister noted support for Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

"Lithuania remains one of Ukraine's biggest advocates in this and other directions. I am extremely grateful for everything that Lithuania and the Lithuanian people have done and continue to do for Ukraine. I am confident that the new composition of the Seimas will continue to support Ukrainians in the hard fight against the Russian aggressor," he said.

Earlier, Lithuanian Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas said during his visit to Kyiv in December 2024 that his country was ready to invest in the production of Ukrainian missile drones, as well as to expand cooperation with Ukraine in the field of training and education of the Ukrainian military.
