Sybiha: With lower oil prices, higher sanctions pressure, Russian war machine to have less fuel
The lower the oil prices and the higher the sanctions pressure, the less fuel for the war machine in Moscow, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha has said Friday.
"The Soviet Union withdrew from Afghanistan and collapsed partly because of economic problems and low oil prices. The lower the oil prices and the higher the sanctions pressure, the less fuel for the war machine in Moscow," he said on the X social network.
The minister added that Ukraine believes "America's strong leadership can achieve this."
As reported, U.S. President Donald Trump called on Saudi Arabia and other OPEC members states to lower the oil prices. He said that would be, among other things, pressure on Russia to stop the war against Ukraine.
