Zelenskyy, Sandu pledge to meet energy needs of Transnistria's residents

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of Moldova Maia Sandu issued a joint statement after the talks in Kyiv, in which, in particular, they condemned the termination of Russian gas supplies to Transnistria and confirmed the ability of the two countries to ensure the energy supply of the region, the President's Office of Ukraine said on Saturday.
"They strongly condemned the intentional termination of gas supplies by Russia to Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova, which triggered a humanitarian crisis. The parties confirmed their commitment and ability to provide urgent and concrete solutions to meet the energy needs of the residents of Transnistrian region, prevent further escalation of the crisis and restore basic services," the office said in the statement.
