AFU General Staff reports increase in enemy attacks in Kursk region over past 24 hours, slight reduction in bridgehead

The number of armed clashes in Kursk direction over the past 24 hours as of 8:00 Tuesday increased to 18 from 14 the day before, the number of air strikes - to 30 from 11, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Facebook.

According to the map provided in the post, the directions of attack have increased from two to six, and the territory under the control of Ukrainian forces has decreased slightly in the north of Basivka and in the west in the direction of Sudzha.

According to the map, the aggressor has resumed attacks on the border of Sumy region in the area of ​​Novenke and has intensified them on the main bridgehead of Ukrainian troops in Kursk region from the side of Makhnovka and Cherkaska Konopelka.

The General Staff adds that in Kursk direction, 301 artillery attacks were carried out over the past 24 hours (including nine from rocket fire systems), compared to 289 (12) the day before.

According to information from the General Staff, the overall number of clashes per day by Tuesday morning increased to 155 from 112 the day before, and the number of airstrikes increased to 90 from 81.

As reported, on Monday, US President Donald Trump , despite repeated denials from the Ukrainian president, the Defense Ministry and the General Staff, once again spoke about the alleged encirclement of part of the Ukrainian military in Kursk region. He claims that he has succeeded in getting the Russian side to refrain from taking action against these Ukrainian soldiers, and will discuss this issue again with Putin during a conversation on Tuesday, which is expected later in the evening, Kyiv time.
