Mobile ultrasound diagnostic room operates in Mykolaiv region – URCS

A mobile ultrasound diagnostic room has been put into operation in the Mykolaiv region.

“Since February 2025, residents of Mykolaiv region can receive ultrasound diagnostic services in an on-site format. During this time, more than 250 people have already undergone the necessary medical examinations,” the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) reported on Monday on Facebook.

The mobile office was introduced to improve access to medical services in rural areas, where there are difficulties with transport connections and the number of low-mobility groups of people is growing. The implementation of the initiative was made possible thanks to the REDpreneurUA program, which supports social entrepreneurship within the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.

As part of this program, a modern mobile ultrasound diagnostic system Philips Lumify with software for smart devices was purchased. This allows for examinations to be conducted not only in stationary medical institutions, but also directly in communities, in particular in outpatient clinics, paramedical and obstetric centers, health centers or at a mobile clinic of the URCS Hospital.

The purchased equipment provides for a wide range of ultrasound examinations: examination of the abdominal organs, kidneys, urinary bladder, thyroid gland, gallbladder and ducts, and mammary glands. Thanks to this, people have the opportunity to diagnose diseases in a timely manner and prevent their complications.

The Ukrainian Red Cross Society implements the REDpreneurUA program in partnership with the Austrian Red Cross and with the support of the Neighbor in Need Foundation (Austria). The program is aimed at developing social entrepreneurship that makes medical services more accessible and changes people's lives for the better.
