About 600 North Korean soldiers die in Kursk region
About 600 North Koreans have died in Russia's war against Ukraine, including fighting in Kursk region, a South Korean lawmaker said, citing intelligence data.
“North Korea has suffered some 4,700 casualties so far, including injuries and deaths,” Lee Seong-kweun, a member of the parliamentary intelligence committee, said, Reuters reported.
He added that after six months of participation in the war, the North Korean military has become less inept, and its combat capability has significantly improved as it becomes accustomed to using new weapons such as drones.
Earlier this week, Pyongyang confirmed for the first time that it had sent troops to Russia's side to fight in the war in Ukraine on orders from leader Kim Jong Un.
