Those responsible for the torture and murder of Ukrainians, including journalist Roshchina, must be held accountable - European Commission
The European Commission has said those responsible for the torture and murder of Ukrainians, including journalist Viktoria Roshchyna, must be held accountable.
This is how European Commission spokeswoman Anitta Hipper commented on the latest information about the torture and death of Roshchina in a Russian prison in Brussels on Wednesday.
"Russia does not miss any opportunity to demonstrate its vile cruelty towards Ukrainians, killing and torturing, as happened with Viktoria Roshchyna, a brave Ukrainian journalist who was previously brutally not only killed, but also tortured. So, this also clearly shows that life under Russian occupation is not an option, it is not a safe option for Ukrainians. Journalists will always remember her courage, and we must do everything possible to make Russia responsible for all these war crimes and atrocities," she said.
