Ministry of Defense sends request to Ministry of Health for partial decommissioning of doctors - Minister Liashko

The Medical Forces Command has initiated a partial decommissioning of medics for their mobilization, as provided for by the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, Health Minister Viktor Liashko has said.

"The first stage of such decommissioning has already been implemented: the Medical Forces Command has contacted the Ministry of Defense. The Ministry of Defense has sent us a request for the number of medical workers they want us to decommission and mobilize in the first stage," he said at a briefing on Wednesday.

The minister explained that further mechanisms were used when, according to the quota principle, this number of medical workers was divided for each region, and work began with regional military administrations and health departments.

"They are now working with specific institutions regarding medical specialties. Such specialists who will be subject to decommissioning and further mobilization by concluding a contract for one year, as provided for by the amendments to the laws," Liashko noted.

According to him, this will ensure the rotation of medical workers who will be drafted into the ranks of the Armed Forces.
