Orban sharply responds to Zelenskyy regarding Ukraine's accession to EU
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban sharply responded to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy regarding Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
“Mr. President! What the Hungarian people think is not decided by the president in Kyiv or the bureaucrats in Brussels. There is no Ukrainian EU accession without Hungary. Every Hungarian will have their say on this. Whether you like it or not. That’s how we do things here,” he wrote on X.
As reported, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto commented on the statement of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticizing Hungary's blocking of Ukraine's membership in the European Union, stating that the Ukrainian side "must come to terms."
Earlier, Zelenskyy criticized the Hungarian government's position on Ukraine's accession to the EU, emphasizing that the majority of the Hungarian population supports Ukrainian membership and calling for Ukraine not to be drawn into "their elections."
