Russia accumulates over 50,000 troops in Sumy axis – Zelenskyy

The Russian occupiers are constantly carrying out offensive actions on the front. However, they have not managed to carry out a major operation, now, they are accumulating more than 50,000 troops in the Sumy area, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
"They are also amassing troops in the Sumy area. More than 50,000 troops. We understand. But we are having some success there. For example, today [May 27], we took eight prisoners in the Tyotkino area [a village in Kursk region of the Russian Federation]," Zelenskyy said during a conversation with journalists.
According to the president, in the Pokrovsk axis, in Kostiantynivka, "we had problems, but there were successful battles." Over the past two days [as of May 27], the Defense Forces have pushed the Russians back 4 km in Kostiantynivka.
Zelenskyy noted that the Russians cannot completely "withdraw all their troops from the Pokrovsk area." "Just as they could not transfer all their troops to the Pokrovsk area to capture Pokrovsk," he added.
The president also reported that there are sabotage operations by the Russians in Sumy region and there are responses from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In addition, according to him, the Russians will do everything to cross the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk region, but so far they have not succeeded. They also want to capture Pokrovsk in Donetsk region.
"As for the Sumy aix. Their largest, strongest troops are currently in the Kursk area. To push our troops out of Kursk region and to prepare offensive actions against Sumy region. To build this buffer zone, which they call it, 10 kilometers deep into Ukraine. I think they understand that they lack these capabilities," Zelenskyy explained.
He also reported that Ukrainian forces in Kursk region "left from one direction, entered the Kursk region in another direction." "We have good experience there," the president added.
"There are some fantasy people among them [Russians] who continue to talk about the Kherson offensive operation across the river. But it is clear that these are the ones who are talking – I am not sure if they are sober – Russians who do not care how many people will die there. Fording the river, we understand what it is like in Kherson region, is absolutely impossible today," the head of state summed up.
