Sybiha: Russia rejects any meaningful peace efforts, must face new, devastating sanctions. Already now. There’s no more time to wait

Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha called on partners to increase sanctions pressure on Moscow and to transfer additional air defense assets to Ukrainians after yet another Russian terror attack on Ukraine.
“Another night of Russian terror in Ukraine. Kyiv and Odesa under heaviest attacks by hundreds of drones and ballistic missiles. Russians struck a maternity ward and ordinary residential buildings, killing and injuring civilians. Russia rejects any meaningful peace efforts and must face new, devastating sanctions. Already now. There is no more time to wait,” he said on X.
The minister stressed that energy, including the reduction of the upper limit of oil prices, the banking sector and secondary sanctions are among the most sensitive areas. Sybiha stressed that these sanctions are aimed not only at supporting Ukraine, but are also necessary for partners.
“Such economic restrictions defund Russia's war machine, which is directed not only at us, but also at them. Equally important are steps to strengthen Ukraine, especially additional supplies of air defense capabilities,” the minister noted.
