Zelenskyy: Ukraine can mobilize 27,000 people per month, Russia – 40,000-50,000

Ukraine can mobilize 27,000 people per month, while Russia can mobilize 40,000-50,000, as their losses are higher, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.

"Mobilization is a problem in any war. Ukraine is no exception, because we want the war to end. People get tired. We can mobilize 27,000 people a month, and the Russians can mobilize 40,000-50,000 because their losses are greater. In our country, mobilization is possible due to martial law. No one else has the experience to stop Putin. It was us who stopped him," Zelenskyy said in an interview for the Hungarian edition of Válasz Online.

Commenting on the statements of some leaders of other countries on mobilization in Ukraine since the age of 18, the President stressed that he does not believe that this should be done.

"Operation Web has shown that the main thing is not the number of people, but weapons and technology. As well as money and pressure. And the sanctions would be aimed precisely at the money that the Russians use to finance the war," Zelenskyy explained.

According to him, Western partners list the reasons why they did not make a decision on sanctions, since Ukraine did not mobilize people over the age of 18.

"To be honest, we provided an opportunity for 18-24-year-olds to show that they can also serve (under contract) if our partners want it. That's what we've given them now, in accordance with our legislation. Meanwhile, thousands of people are fighting at the front without proper weapons," the president concluded.
