Ukraine is following with concern the developments in the Middle East in connection with Israel's strikes on Iranian targets last night, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"Realizing the risks of further destabilization of the entire region, we note that the continuation of hostilities could have negative consequences for international security and global financial stability, especially in oil markets," the statement says.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that it is important to avoid further destabilization of the region and prevent civilian casualties.
"Meanwile, we remind you that the Iranian regime supports Russia in its illegal war of conquest against Ukraine and provides Moscow with weapons to kill Ukrainians. Iran is the source of many problems in the Middle East and beyond," the statement reads.
Ukraine is convinced that the restoration of peace and stability in the Middle East will meet the interests of not only the region, but also the entire international community, and security in Europe and the Middle East are directly related.
"In this context, we call on the international community to take joint and decisive action to overcome modern security threats and coordinated containment of a group of aggressive regimes - Russia, Iran and North Korea," the Foreign Ministry urged.
