Ukraine fully synchronizes 13th, 14th packages of EU sanctions against Russia

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) on the synchronization of European sanctions against the Russian Federation.

"Our institutions have begun to implement the NSDC decision on the synchronization of European sanctions and Ukrainian ones. The 13th and 14th packages of EU sanctions are fully synchronized. These will now also be 100% Ukrainian sanctions. Today I approved this," he said in an evening video address on Sunday.

According to him, the package of European sanctions against the regime in Iran will also be 100% synchronized.

"There are many figures, many companies, and not only what concerns military production and schemes of external terror against neighbors in the region, but also internal repression in Iran. This is one of the most brutal regimes in the world and it is not surprising that Putin found common ground with it. We will continue all this work on synchronization," Zelenskyy emphasized.

The President added that he expects all Ukrainian institutions in the state to move quickly.

"Now sanctions should be one of the key priorities. The world's sanctions against Russia are what really limits Russia's strategic development opportunities, their potential. They should more painfully limit Russia's ability to continue this war. The war against our independence," he noted.

Zelenskyy also announced the preparation of new joint decisions with partners next week on the defense and stability of Ukraine.
